Beginning Character Development

These are exciting sketchbook pages, featuring various dog illustrations, and subject matter surrounding dogs and also cats. For examples, I've drawn bones, toys, dog food, paw prints, and home items like sofa's, chairs and dog beds.

Instead of leaving it here, I decided to do some further development, therefore I used water colour paints to colour in the sketches.

Character Design Studies

Below are examples of character designs drawn in different  styles. I did this because I wanted to experiment with a variety of techniques. To do this I created a Pinterest board and collected images of dogs drawn by different artists. After this I drew my own character in this style, doing this gave me a grasp of how I should draw the main character in my comic.

Initial Ideas

Below are my initial ideas, based on the short story I wrote for each book. Within these dummy books, I turned the story into bullet points. I did this so that I could begin to play out how many boxes I would need within each book to convey the story properly. Each bullet point demonstrated either one or two boxes on each page.
